Drawing has may functions, usually the development of an idea, for later painting and sometimes an expression totally finished in itself. Or its a recording of a model or other subject one needs data on, as impersonal as it sounds its recording info for later use in a work. Drawing in my view is not really copying photos, I can not see the point, if you already have a photo why the need to draw it? Other then perhaps reference but then I maintain that reference should be used as such after you compose your own view first, then use photo reference (your own) but preferably never from the same view point, otherwise again there is no point to doing it.

Drawn entirely with eyes closed to get the action without getting distracted by the drawing, As you can see it has a problem with the rear legs bending the wrong way but because its a lively pose and an idea drawing, who really cares? Its easily fixed should I want to use this composition, don’t get carried away with the little details, the minor things are easily fixed, the point is to let the thing flow on paper uninterrupted.
